Eight Americans to contest opening UCI Track World Cup

Eight Americans will contest the first round of the 2011-2012 UCI Track Cycling World Cup, November 4-6 in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Fresh off a silver medal at the Pan American Games, Michael Blatchford (Cypress, Calif./Project 2012) will team up with Giddeon Massie (Cypress, Calif./Bike Religion) andKevin Mansker (Long Beach, Calif./Project 2012) who will be looking to set another American record in the men’s team sprint. Cristin Walker (Houston, Texas/Broadmark Atomic) and Madalyn Godby (Louisville, Colo./US Pan Am) will also help get things going for the Americans on Friday in women’s team sprint as will 2008 Olympian Bobby Lea(Mertztown, Pa./Pure Energy Cycling-ProAirHFA) who will begin his chase for hardware in the men’s omnium.
 
Saturday, another Olympian, Massie will compete in the men’s keirin, just as Dana Feiss(Telford, Pa./Home Deport Center) lines up for the women’s sprint. Competition will wrap up on Sunday with Kit Karzen (Beverly Hills, Calif./VRC/NOW-MS Society) and Lea teaming up in the Madison, Mansker in the men’s sprint and Feiss in the women’s keirin.
